About the Translator: Maulana Fazlur Rahman Mubarakpuri (1909-1979 CE) was born in Mubarakpur, Azamgarh District and studied at the famous Nadwatul Ulama seminary at Lucknow. He later taught there and at several other institutions. He also served as Head of the Department of Hadith at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama for a long time. He authored a number of books in Arabic, Persian and Urdu, including translations from Arabic to Urdu. A brief life sketch has been included in the translation by Maulana Abdul Haq Ansari.
